A work account is not a personal account

You are using ChatGPT on a Business or Enterprise plan. The difference from a personal account is not the model — it is what the tool is allowed to touch, and what happens to what you type.

On a work plan:

  • Your conversations are not used to train the model.
  • Your organization controls which outside services ChatGPT can connect to.
  • An administrator manages those settings centrally, not you.

That last point matters for this course. Almost everything here depends on connections your administrator has to switch on first.

Learn

Four things that must be enabled

If any of these are off, the lessons will not work — and it will not be anything you did wrong:

  1. Connectors for email, calendar, file storage, and your team chat app
  2. Scheduled or recurring tasks, so ChatGPT can run a job on its own
  3. Memory or saved profiles, so it remembers what you teach it between sessions
  4. A company account — signed in to your organization's workspace, not a personal login

If something in this course is missing from your screen, first check that you are signed in with your work account. If you are, contact your workspace administrator. Do not spend time troubleshooting it yourself — these are not user-level settings.

Planning to run this for your team?

This course works on its own, at your own pace. It also works as a live, hands-on session for a group — everyone on a laptop, connecting their own accounts as they go.

If you want to run it that way, download the facilitator guide:

It covers what to confirm with your administrator beforehand, a timed run of show, the places people predictably get stuck, and a troubleshooting table. Roughly 105 minutes for a group of up to 20.

If you are here as an individual learner, skip this and carry on.

Reflect

What would you hand off?

Before connecting anything, think of one recurring task in your week that involves reading your own email or messages and summarizing them for someone else.

Keep it in mind — you will automate something like it in Module 5.

Save this reflection for your records.
